New trains to to Miami

According to reports, a Miami transportation and real estate company revealed on Wednesday that their plans to go with a one billion dollar project to build a private passenger train service between Orlando and Miami to start functioning by the end of the year 2014. The main features are – it would be a unsubsidized service between two cities and most importantly this route is heavily traveled by tourists as well as convention goers.

On November 16, the electronic-focused Ultra Music Festival, which takes over Miami's South Beach every year, announced an expanded event for 2011, with three days of music rather than two and an expected larger international lineup. The events runs from March 25-27, 2011

Miami Cycling Challenge

Nearly 300 cyclists came out to participate in the Dolphin Cycling Challenge. This ride wasn't about winning medals or prizes -- it was about cancer awareness.

This was a community initiative between the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the University of Miami. All proceeds will go to the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dolphins alumnus Jim ``Mad Dog'' Mandich is being treated by UM. He was honored at the ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday by the Dolphins, who named their cycling team, "Team Mad Dog."
