Singapore Tourism Board set to arrange India tech forum

Singapore Tourism Board would join forces with the Web In Travel to arrange the very first India Travel Executive Forum later this month. The event would take place on 10th July at Taj West End, Bengaluru. The half day event would feature a series of speakers from Indian travel industry.

With the theme - Deconstructing the India Story, top executives from Yatra, Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip, AirAsia Expedia, Mercury Travels and Thomas Cook would take part in the program, with new players in the Indian online travel sector that includes Trip38, SavvyMob and Mygola.

Along with these, start-up teams from Singapore including Travelogy and Voyagin would go to Bengaluru to share all their tales. STB’s executive director for Middle East, Africa & Europe and South Asia Chang Chee Pey told that the entrepreneurial as well as innovative spirit is very strong here in India. This rings true in the travel space, where increasing digitization is disrupting the travel decision and planning process.

He added that working with Web In Travel to bring important insights from Singapore’s TravelRave to India would change the travel ecosystem to plug into newest trends in entrepreneurship, innovation and travel technology across Asia.

Ms Yeoh stated that they have been thinking of arranging a Wit India for a long time. This partnership with STB is a great scope for them to bring their style of events to India, which is one of the largest and most important markets that have changing travel in Asia. Bangalore, popularly known as the Silicon Valley of India, was a natural choice for us given its vibrant and dynamic start-up scene.
